The Welsh Government have launched a public consultation into the future of our land in Wales.
The proposal is to remove direct payments for farmers replacing them with payments supporting economic resilience and support to deliver public goods. There is an opportunity for Welsh Government to actively support a commercial forestry sector in Wales and we encourage the politicians to recognise the potential for commercial forestry to create wealth in rural Wales.
The consultation on the future of our land here in Wales is now open until the 30th October 2018. The consultation is key to the future of our rural economy.
